Interlaken man airlifted after crash – FingerLakes1.com Archive

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports Sunday at approximately 8 pm Deputies were dispatched to the area of Cayuga Street in the Village of Interlaken for the report of two parked vehicles being struck by a pickup truck. Witnesses reported that the driver of the pickup had fled the scene. A second witness began to follow the pickup when he observed the vehicle roll over and crash on Arden Road in the Town of Covert. Upon Deputies arrival, they discovered a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado being operated by Michael C. Holcomb, age 40, of 8268 Main Street in Interlaken. Holcomb was trapped within the vehicle and needed to be extricated by members of the Trumansburg Fire Department. Upon extrication, Holcomb was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse via LifeNet. Holcomb has since been released from SUNY Upstate Medical Center and was treated for minor injuries. Sheriff’s Deputies report that the investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are pending.
