On October 7th at 5:05 pm the Waterloo Village Police Department arrested Carol A. Garafalo, age 56 of 25 Mill Street in Waterloo, on an arrest warrant for the charges of Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Reckless Driving. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on September 26th at about 9:57 am in the Village. Garafalo is accused of recklessly operating her motor vehicle on East Main Street in the downtown business district and almost striking pedestrians who were crossing East Main Street. Garafalo stopped her vehicle and engaged the pedestrians in a verbal altercation. Garafalo then turned her vehicle around and drove back by the pedestrians who were now walking in the Village Municipal Parking lot on East Main Street. Garafalo passed the pedestrians and then turned around in the parking lot driving her vehicle back towards the pedestrians. Garafalo then intentionally drove towards the two pedestrians swerving towards them causing the pedestrians to have to run out of the way of her vehicle so they would not be hit. Garafalo was arraigned in Waterloo Village Court and was released on her own recognizance. Garafalo is scheduled to be back in Waterloo Village Court on October 21st.
