The Hon. Craig J. Doran, Administrative Judge for the 7th Judicial District along with Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman is pleased to announce that Auburn City Court’s Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court was awarded a $200,000 dollar Bureau of Justice Assistance Grant.The grant award will allow the court to provide case management services to heroin/opioid dependent participants; decrease heroin/opioid abuse by participants and others in the community through an outreach educational program; provide an annual speakers series on heroin and opioid abuse for the education of the professional community; and evaluate the program.Judge Doran stated “Let me begin by congratulating Judge Michael McKeon and his treatment court team for another successful drug treatment court grant application that is ensuring the continued success of this important treatment court, as well as, the success of those treatment court participants. Moreover, it is imperative that we aggressively address the heroin and opioid addiction that continues to grow in our communities.”
