Waterloo man arrested for stealing truck

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that Sheriff’s Investigators and Deputies arrested Christopher T Kesterson, age 29 of 1492 Caroline Road in Waterloo.It is alleged that Kesterson, while working for a Seneca County Business, was allowed to take a work truck valued at more then fifty thousand dollars home and use it for personal transportation. After working for the Business for about two months Kesterson sold the business truck for cash and a different truck without the rightful owners permission or knowledge. After the sale Kesterson made himself completely unavailable to Law Enforcement and the business owner. Kesterson was finally apprehended when a motor vehicle he was riding in was stopped for a traffic infraction by the Town of Seneca Falls Police. During the traffic stop Kesterson exited the vehicle and ran away in an attempt to avoid being caught. He was apprehended after a short search by Town Police, Sheriff’s Deputies, and the State Police. Kesterson was arrested and arraigned before Town Justice Laquidari for the charge of Grand Larceny in the 2nd degree a class C felony. He was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail. Kesterson is to reappear on October 1st 9:00 am for further criminal court action.
