The Seneca County Sheriff reports that on Monday investigators arrested Mercedes K. Steel, age 18 of Clinton Street in Seneca Falls. Steel was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree (misdemeanor-class A) following an investigation into the report of a stolen diamond ring from a residence in Waterloo. Steel is accused of possessing the stolen jewelry item and selling it. Steel was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear before the Waterloo Town Court on October 8th, to answer the charge.
