On Sunday at approximately 3:30 pm the Penn Yan Police Department arrested Mathew A. Bruno, age 21 of Penn Yan, and Nicholas C. Irwin, age 22 of Himrod, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th (Class A Misdemeanor).Penn Yan Police, assisted by the New York State Troopers, located the pair at a residence on Vine Road where they were taken into custody. Bruno and Irwin were charged, along with a previously charged 16 year old female, after an investigation into a complaint of larceny of property that occurred in the Village. Police located and recovered the stolen property after it had been sold to a local business. It was found that the trio possessed the property and sold it for cash.Both Bruno and Irwin are currently out on bail for unrelated charges in the Village. They were arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court where both were remanded to the Yates County Jail; Bruno in lieu of $10,000 cash/ $20,000 bond, and Irwin in lieu of $5,000 cash/ $10,000 bond. They will reappear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
