Penn Yan woman charged after traffic stop

On Saturday at approximately 5:18 pm the Penn Yan Police Department arrested Amber M. Whetham, age 23 of Main Street in Penn Yan, after routine traffic stop.During the stop a check of Whetham’s vehicle registration showed the status to be suspended. Whetham was charged with No or Inadequate Muffler and Operating While Registration Suspended/Revoked.Whetham was released on tickets and is to appear in the Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
