Armed man in mask attempts robbery in Geneva

On Sunday at approximately 5:20 am Geneva Police Marked Units were detailed to Argyle Street for a report of an Attempted Robbery/Menacing with a handgun. The victim reports while moving items into his residence on Argyle Street he was approached by a male with a “Michael” Style Halloween mask and pointed a handgun at him. The victim then attempted to charge and chase the suspect and was struck in the head with the weapon. The suspect ran to the area of Madison Street and was not located at the time of the release. The victim was treated and released from Geneva General Hospital. The investigation is on-going. On September 14th at approximately 11 pm in the area of 488 South Main Street a Robbery with a handgun was reported involving three male suspects and one male victim. A Pellet gun was recovered in the incident. No injuries were reported. Based upon the investigation conducted by the Geneva Police Department and the unwillingness of the victim to assist in the investigation the case has been closed.
