Solarize Cayuga to host open house in Union Springs

Solarize Cayuga will hold a free Open House at Generations Bank on Main Street in Union Springs on Wednesday, September 16 from 5 – 6:30 pm. Refreshments will be served to attendees interested in learning more about applications for solar energy for homes and businesses. Generations Bank offers a prime example of a business that has “gone solar”, although many driving by this branch may have no idea of the significant amount of electrical power being generated atop the building. The bank’s rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system was installed in 2012 by Halco, one of the two solar contractors approved by Solarize Cayuga and providing special limited-time discount pricing for residences and businesses. The Generations Bank array is comprised of 36 Solar World 230-watt, generating 8.28 kW of electricity per year.
