Seneca Falls Farmers Market report for 9/9

Yes the kids have headed back to school but the market is still going strong with more local fruits and vegetables available than ever! Stop at People’s Park in Seneca Falls for the farmers market tomorrow from 9AM to 1:30PM. Lots of sweet corn, peaches, plums, apples, raspberries, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, onions, pattypan squash, chard, zucchini, yellow squash, green and yellow beans, greens of many kinds, spinach, beets and whatever else is ripe this week! It will be “the fruit guy’s” last week at the market so stop by for his peaches and plums before he is gone!If you are a senior aged 60 or over come down and get your Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons. The income qualification is VERY generous and you will receive $20 to spend at the market on fresh fruits and vegetables if you qualify. No paperwork needed. Come down and use your food stamp (EBT/SNAP) benefits at the market! There is a special incentive called FreshConnect. For every food stamp recipient who purchases $5.00 of SNAP/EBT wooden tokens that person receives a $2 coupon FREE to spend on any food stamp eligible item at the market. Besides the abundance of fresh, just picked veggies and fruits and other edibles, don’t forget about the handmade jewelry, vintage lavender filled linens, Watkins products, some really cute little girls skirts and dresses made from bandannas, plants in pretty pots, cut and dried flowers and mum plants.
