If you are a resident who is interested in helping Geneva to become a better place for pedestrians and bicyclists, here is an opportunity that you may want to become involved with. The City and Town of Geneva are seeking resident volunteers to serve on an Active Transportation Plan steering committee. With funding from the Genesee Transportation Council, the City and Town of Geneva will be hiring a consultant to develop an active transportation plan with assistance from the steering committee. The goal of the plan is to improve the physical infrastructure for pedestrians and bicycle travel by residents and visitors throughout the Geneva area. Interested individuals should be aware of the time commitment:The committee will meet from late September 2015 through October 2016Outside committee time will be required to review the consultant request for proposals and draft plansConsultant interviews and selection )one to two meetings at the end of Sept/beginning of October)4-5 Steering committee meetingsParticipating in two public meetings If interested, please send an email to Sage Gerling (sgerling@geneva.ny.us) by September 15th with your contact information (name, email and phone), whether you are a Town or City resident and any organizations you are affiliated with that might be helpful with the committee.
