NC man found with pot, illegal fireworks in Ovid

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Tuesday at about 1:00 am Seneca County Deputies arrested Matthew R Wolff, Age 41 of 702 Turtle Creek Drive 6 in Ashville, NC, on St Rt 96 in the Town of Ovid. Wolf was charged with operating motor vehicle on public highway while using mobile phone (Violation), Felony DWI: Previous conviction with the past 10 years (E Felony) , Felony operating a motor vehicle with .08% or more alcohol with a previous conviction with the past 10 years (E Felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle 3rd (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Unlawful possession of Marijuana (Violation) and Unlawful possession of fireworks (violation.) Deputies report that the arrest stems from an observation of Wolff operation a motor vehicle while using a mobile phone. Deputies report that a search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of Marijuana and illegal fireworks. Wolff was arraigned in the Town of Ovid Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional facility on $3000 cash or $6000 Bond. Wolf is to appear before the Town of Ovid Court on September 15th to answer the charges.
