The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday at about 6:56 am Deputies investigated a two car PI MVA on State Route 96A at the intersection of Yale Farm Road. Deputies report that a vehicle driven by Mary McClelland, 55 of 21 Spring Street in Geneva, was South bound on State Route 96A when the second vehicle, driven by Diana M. Kelly, 56 of 48 Brookside Circle in Elmira, attempted to cross the intersection of 96A and Yale Farm Road and entered the path of McClelland causing the accident. McClelland was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and transported to Geneva General Hospital as a precautionary measure. Kelly was extracated by the Varick Fire Department and treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance. Kelly was flown by Lifenet to Upstate University Hospital for neck and head injuries. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Kelly was issued a utt for failing to yield the right of way, and is to appear in the Town of Varick court at a later date.
