The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on Saturday at about 1:00 am, Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a 2 vehicle fatal car-motorcycle crash that occurred on West Tyre Road in the Town of Tyre approximately 1/4 mile east of Route 414.Deputies report that Mary Beth Sears, age 25 of 2637 Brewer Road in Waterloo, was westbound on West Tyre Road driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber when she was struck by a 1986 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was eastbound. The motorcycle was driven by Raymond W. Caster, age 61 of 1062 Middle Black Brook Road in Seneca Falls.Deputies say Caster apparently drifted over the center line at the hill crest and struck Sears head-on. Caster was thrown off the motorcycle and landed in the road. Caster was pronounced dead at the scene by Seneca County Coroner Rick Coe.Sears was not injured. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Magee Fire ,North Seneca Ambulance , and the NYS Park Police. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Deputies report the investigation is continuing.
