On Friday August 14 at about 8:30 pm, The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department investigated a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Tyrone. Investigation revealed that the driver of a tractor trailer, Liban W. Farah, age 35 of Denver Colorado, was traveling westbound on County Route 23 when he failed to stop for a stop sign at State Route 226. Farah drove across State Route 226, through a guard rail and became airborne before crashing into a dam and pond. The Tyrone Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance responded and checked Farah who had no injuries. T and R towing responded for the recovery of the tractor trailer. Farah was issued tickets for Driving over the posted weight limit, Failing to stop for the stop sign, and Failing to use the designated lane. Farah will be answering the charges at a later date in the Town of Tyrone Court.
