Car catches fire in Waterloo Saturday

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on Saturday at approximately 7:29 am Deputies responded to the intersection of Pre-Emption Street & Route 96 in the Town of Waterloo for a reported vehicle fire. Upon Deputies arrival the vehicle was extinguished by Oaks Corners Fire Department. The owner of the vehicle, Lawrence W. Swetman age 58 of 5876 East Lake Road in Romulus, was operating the vehicle at the time of the fire. The vehicle was a total loss and was estimated to be valued at $4,500.00. There were no injuries sustained during the incident. The fire was ruled to be accidental caused by overheating under the hood.
