On Wednesday the Village of Penn Yan Police Department arrested Shane Wright, age 33 with no current residence, for Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, both Class A Misdemeanors.Police located Wright walking on the Outlet Trail towards Main Street after Village Curfew. After an Officer told him to stop, Wright began to walk away from the Officer. After a brief foot chase, Police stopped Wright on Lake Street where was placed under arrest. During the search incidental to arrest, Police located a folded bundle inside a cigarette package that contained heroin. It was found that Wright also was wanted on two bench warrants out of the Village of Penn Yan Court for failure to appear.Wright was arraigned in the Village of Penn Yan Court where bail was set at $2500 cash $5000 bond.
