Terminal J Donates $1300 to Geneva Bark Park

The Geneva Bark Park received a donation of $1300 from two local residents last week; proceeds stemming from the Terminal J Festival that was held in downtown Geneva on July 11th, behind Lake Drum Brewing. The event started as a surprise birthday party for Jen Meyers. When her husband, Craig, began coordinating the event, word spread quickly and the surprise party led to one of the most unique music festivals to occur in Geneva this summer.“The Geneva Bark Park is incredibly grateful for the hard-work and dedication that Jen and Craig put forth in putting together this amazing event,” said Chelsea Campbell, Events Factory Coordinator and Bark Park volunteer. “The contributions of local volunteers and businesses not only brought a unique music festival into downtown; it rallied support for an initiative that will benefit all dog-owners.”Craig Meyers commented on his social media page, ““Long story short my wife, Jennifer Meyer, wanted live music and to be surrounded by friends for her birthday… before I knew it we had formed the Terminal J Festival a one day music festival in the parking lot behind Lake Drum Brewing featuring music by Vampyre Eyes, the Zydeco Trail Riders, Personal Blend, and headliners The Oxymorrons! This was an all-day event with food, beer, and cider, plus vendor tents from Vere Sandals and Space Vinyl.”The Geneva Bark Park also thanks the Bark Park Volunteers who pitched in to help make the event a success, along with Lake Drum Brewing for use of the location. To date, with inclusion of the benefits from the Terminal J Festival, the Bark Park has raised $18,000. The total needed for completion is $25,000.The Geneva Bark Park was an initiative started through a local Geneva resident through the City of Geneva Innovation Hub. The organization, a project of Geneva Community Projects, coordinates fundraising for a local dog park that will be established behind the Geneva Recreation Complex, providing residents and dogs a safe and friendly environment to exercise and socialize.
