More storms passing through FLX tonight

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for all Finger Lakes counties beginning at 10:00 pm tonight and running through Tuesday morning.

Here is the statement from the NWS in Buffalo, NY issued just before 3:00 pm on Tuesday:SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING THROUGH THE REGION OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY. RECENT SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL HAS RESULTED IN MANY AREAS WITH SATURATED GROUND AND STREAMS RUNNING HIGH. ANY THUNDERSTORM OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THIS MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. THE GREATEST POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING IS ACROSS THE FINGER LAKES…GENESEE VALLEY…AND SOUTHERN TIER.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THE THREAT OF FLASH FLOODING EXISTS ALONG RIVERS AND CREEKS. IF YOU ARE IN THE WATCH AREA YOU SHOULD MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS CLOSELY. BE READY TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED.
