The Founders Square Neighborhood Association in Geneva will host the 3rd Annual Musical Porches on Saturday, June 13th from 6 to 8 pm Residents throughout the neighborhood will welcome a local musicians in a variety of genres. Everybody is invited to stroll through the neighborhood and enjoy some of the best music our community has to offer. This year’s musical porches performers include: – Mark Gramling at 28 Argyle Street (Doris Meyer)- Kapo at 22 Cortland Street (Andrea Crisanti)- S. E. Kelton at 255 Monroe Street (Tony di Costanzo)- Other Side of Normal at 180 Washington Street (Bernadette Poole)- Row House at 200 Washington Street (John Vaughn)- Michael George at 251 Washington Street (Stephanie Annear)- Seneca Sound Waves at 256 Washington Street (Lisa Toole)- Touch of Joy at 269 Washington Street (Carolyn McCuster)- Native Sol at 98 Washington Street (Matt Parrott)- Sojurn at 226 Washington Street (Tim Cole)The Founders Square neighborhood is roughly bounded by Washington Street, Hamilton Street, West Street, and Pulteney Street. A map indicating which porches will feature live music will be available in the historic Washington Street Cemetery. The name Founders Square was chosen for this neighborhood to reflect the roots of the neighborhood and why certain streets bear the names they were given almost 200 years ago. Along with possessing some of the oldest, most prominent, and unique homes in the city, the neighborhood is home to Jefferson Street Park and Playground and the historic Washington Street Cemetery, where many Civil War heroes are interred along with some of Geneva’s more prominent citizens of the first 150 years of the city’s existence.
