The Victor Blue Devils boys lacrosse team is the only undefeated team in New York and can now call themselves State Champions after defeating Manhasset, 17-8, on Saturday afternoon to capture the NYS Class B title at Vestal High School in Broome County.

The state championship is the school’s first in boys lacrosse and is just the third team from Section V to capture a state tournament crown joining Penn Yan in 2001 and Canandaigua in 2009.

Junior Dan Barrow was names the Most Valuable Player of the final scoring six goals. Drew Collins and Jamie Trimboli scored three goals each. A big factor in the victory was junior Tristan Ierian’s 20 wins at the “X” in 28 face-offs.The victory moved the Blue Devils to 22 wins and no losses in their historic season.
