On Sunday at about 11:28 pm, Seneca Falls Police responded to a house fire at 100 State Street in the Town of Seneca Falls. Upon arrival, officers observed a fire in the basement of the residence with heavy black smoke coming from the roof of the residence.The home owner, Joseph Mull Jr, his wife and two children who were home at the time of the fire and were able to exit the home without injury.The fire was quickly extinguished by the Seneca Falls Fire Department who were assisted at the scene by Waterloo Fire Department and Fayette Fire Department. North Seneca Ambulance, NYSEG, Seneca County Fire Investigation Team and Seneca County Code Enforcement also assisted at the scene.Cause of the fire was determined to be a possible accidental electrical issue. House sustained moderate fire damage with heavy smoke damage throughout the house, and was insured.
