The new signage welcoming visitors to the Ithaca Commons is easy to spot, well designed, and an overall great looking sign. The only problem is, the sign is partially obscured by a traffic light that hangs directly in front of it.

According to the Ithaca Voice, Ithaca alderperson Ellen McCollister didn’t mince words when discussing the problem…“It’s become an almost iconic statement of something that went wrong,” McCollister said. “I think it’s really important that we fix it. Personally, I don’t think we can sit with it. It really needs to change.”Ithaca officials now have to decide whether to live with the blocked sign or spend more money to fix it.The Commons are currently undergoing a $15 million dollar renovation.- Read more at IthacaVoice.com
