On Friday the Penn Yan Police Department was dispatched to Walgreen’s on Liberty Street for a report of an intoxicated male.Upon arrival the Officers were met by Edward T. Vanvalkenburg, age 58 and a resident of Penn Yan, while Vanvalkenburg had an open can of Keystone Ice beer. He was then issued an appearance ticket for Open Container.At 4:00 am on Saturday Officers were called back to the same location for an intoxicated male lying on the sidewalk. When Officers arrived they found Vanvalkenburg asleep on the sidewalk with another can of Keystone Ice beer by his side. He was then issued another open container ticket.Vanvalkenburg is to appear in the Village of Penn Yan Court June 1 to answer both charges.This is the third time in the past two weeks that Vanvalkenburg has been issued open container tickets in the Village.
