The Geneva Business Improvement District is pleased to announce that Watkins Glen International has signed on as the Main Event Sponsor for the 16th Annual Cruisin’ Night and Block Party.This year’s event will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2015 in downtown Geneva. It will feature cars, trucks and motorcycles of all types displayed on Seneca, Exchange, Castle and Linden Streets. Theevent will run from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.What began as a local tradition, participation in Cruisin’ Night has now surpassed more than 6,000 regional attendees. Centrally located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, this event draws visitationspanning from Buffalo to Syracuse. “It only makes sense that we collaborate on events such as this that bring together car enthusiasts in a way that complements both organizations,” said Amanda Airth, Event Coordinator for the BID.“Watkins Glen International is proud to support the Geneva Business Improvement District and its Annual Cruisin’ Night & Block Party,” said Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup. “Theevent is a lot of fun, and it’s a great sign of all that BID is doing in Geneva. We’re happy to be part of it.”Watkins Glen International was established in 1948 as North America’s premiere racing facility. “The Glen” has a lengthy history that includes expanding the circuit from Formula 1 to the Can-Am, Trans-Am, Six Hours, Formula 5000 and CART Indy Car Series in the seventies, to now hosting major NASCAR and SCCA events, as well as the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix. Watkins Glen International has gained recognition not only as a speedway, but as an organization that continually gives back to surrounding communities. WGI has played host to a number of events including the Finger Lakes Wine Festival, the Finger Lakes Beer Festival, the Pre-Season Job Fair, as well as offering a number of musical performances andentertainment throughout the season.“With the help of Watkins Glen International we hope to strengthen a relationship between the North and South ends of Seneca Lake, capitalizing on all that the region has to offer,” ended Airth.
