Cornell University’s 147th Commencement ceremonies will prompt the detour of Route 51 all day Sunday, May 24.Route 51 outbound coming from downtown will stop at Tompkins Trust Co. just before (and instead of) the stop at College Ave. @ Dryden Rd. and will bypass all stops until Fairview Apartments (Maple Ave.). Route 51 inbound to downtown will serve the stop at Fairview Apartments (Maple Ave.) and will bypass all stops until College Ave. @ Dryden Rd. For those attending Sunday’s commencement at Schoellkopf Field, TCAT will be providing service from both A Lot, TRB/ or K Lot and B Lot (outlying parking lots) starting at 7 a.m. to and from the stadium as well as to other stops on campus in between. In addition, a campus shuttle will provide bus service to and from West Campus.All other routes will be operating normally.TCAT, Inc. (Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit, Inc.) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides public transportation for Tompkins County. TCAT’s annual ridership is nearly 4.3 million, covering a distance of about 1.6 million miles. The fleet of approximately 50 buses currently includes 8 hybrid electric-diesel buses.
