PY man arrested after domestic incident

On Saturday at 2:25 am the Penn Yan Police arrested 27 year old Shane D. Mendez of Penn Yan after a domestic incident that occurred in the Village at 120 Eagle Lane. From the incident Mendez was charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, two counts of Criminal Mischief, Petit Larceny, and Harassment in the Second. It is alleged that Mendez left the scene on foot and later returned after officers had left the apartment, and then kicked in the door. He was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third which is a Class D Felony after finding he had possession of a black brass knuckle knife as well as previously being convicted of a crime.Mendez will appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later time.
