A seventh grader from the Geneva City School District will compete in the New York State Championship Tennis Tournament next week.Ryan Fishback, 13, defeated Pittsford Mendon’s Ventatesh Ramkumar 0-6, 6-2, 6-0 in the playback match at the Section V New York State Qualifying tournament at Webster Schroeder High School on Saturday to earn a spot in the state tournament.
The championship tournament begins May 28 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.Fishback won the Section V Class B Championship earlier this month.
