Lively Run was recognized for their 2012-2014 expansions of their cheese facility, products, and cheese shop, growth of their agritourism business, and 450% increase in net income.2015 NYS SBDC Agricultural Business of the Year The New York State Small Business Development Center (SBDC) awards yearly honors, including awards for Growth Company, Start-Up Company, High Tech Company, Manufacturer, Agriculture, Minority, Veteran and Woman Entrepreneurs of the Year.Lively Run Dairy has expanded their cheese plant production facility with assistance from Ken Homer of Binghamton SBDC to produce hard cheeses using cow’s milk, and make cheese under private labeling for other farms. They have gotten involved in agritourism, expanding their facility with a retail tasting room and store, bus parking, and are preparing to provide meals for tourists in the Finger Lakes.Over the years, Lively Run Dairy has been featured in many national publications, including Gourmet, Food and Wine, Saveur, Edible Finger Lakes, and the nation’s leading artisanal cheese publication Culture Magazine. Lively Run has increased its net income by a factor of about 450% from 2012 to 2014.The Lively Run family traveled to Saratoga Springs in April to receive their award and celebrate with other members of New York State SBDC.
