TCAT summer service goes into effect this Sunday

TCAT’s summer service will be in effect from Sunday May 17 through Saturday August 22 and include timing improvements resulting from customer feedback, as well as adjustments in anticipation of summer construction detours. The comprehensive TCAT Schedules & Service Guide/ Summer 2015 will be distributed system wide in the coming days at key shelters, to include Green Street Station and Seneca Street Station. Those who want the ride guide and/ or individual schedules can download them starting Sunda May 17 at www.tcatbus.com or pick them up at TCAT, 737 Willow Ave. Passengers can also call TCAT at (607) 277 7433 and schedules will be sent to you via mail.Most notable and for the second year in a row, TCAT’s summer only Route 22 service goes into effect with options to travel to Lower Buttermilk Falls State Park and Lower Robert H. Treman State Park, in addition to Cass Park, Cayuga Nature Center and Taughannock Falls State Park. Route 22 operates seven days a week with weekend service beginning on Sunday May 17 and ending Sunday September 6, and weekday service beginning Monday June 22, and ending Friday August 21. Adjustments are as follows: Route 11 Extra late night service Thursday through Saturday will operate every 60 minutes instead of every 30 minutes. Last trip to Ithaca College from Seneca Street Station will depart at 1:26 am and from Green Street Station at 1:35 am.Route 30 No weekend service. Note: Route 70 will offer weekend service from the Ithaca Commons, through Cornell University campus, and to the Shops at Ithaca Mall. Route 31 No 10:40 pm trip from Green Street Station. Route will resume first two am trips to Convenient Care.Route 51 Weekend route to resume on Maple Avenue (for summer only).Route 52 Third and fourth am trips will operate five minutes earlier to make it easier for passengers to transfer to other buses downtown. Route 81 Will no longer serve Vet School and Boyce Thompson Institute (BTI) stops to maintain on-time departures from A Lot. (See Route 82 below). Route 82 Will now provide Vet School and BTI stops with 10-minute frequency throughout the day. Vet School across the street from B-Lot will have additional rush hour trips with 10 minute frequencies from 7:08 a.m. through 8:58 am and again from 3:32 pm through 5:22 pm, in response to customer feedback. Route 83 No summer service.Route 92 No summer service.Route 93 No summer Sunday service.Also please note: The ride guide includes detailed information about a construction detour on Tower Road, between East Ave. and Wing Road, which will go into effect Monday June 8 and extend through Saturday August 22. The detour will impact Routes 20, 21, 31, 36, 37, 40, 41, 43, 51, 52, 53, 65, 67, 75, 81, and 82. Tower Road stops will be moved to Campus Road. The Sage Hall stop for Routes 81 and 82 will be moved to the front of Bill and Melinda Gates Hall.For the summer service period and throughout the detour, there will be no changes to Routes 10, 13, 14, 15, 32, 70, 72, 74, 77, and 90.TCAT, Inc.
