Waterloo man breaks window, stabs a wall during domestic

On Friday at 2:15 am, the Waterloo Village Police Department arrested Steven J. Picchi, age 29, of 104 N. Virginia Street Apartment 1 in Waterloo, on the charges of Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a child (3 counts).It is alleged the defendant punched a window in a residence causing it to break during an argument. The defendant then allegedly wielded a knife and was holding it over a person while engaged in an argument. The defendant then allegedly took the knife and stabbed a wall in the residence and would not let anyone leave the house.Three children where present during the time of the incident and the 3 kids escaped from the house with a friend who then called 911.The defendant was arraigned in Waterloo Village Court and an order of protection was issued for the 3 kids and an adult. The defendant was ROR and is to appear back in Village Court later this month. Seneca County Sheriff’s Department assisted Waterloo officers at the scene.
