The Waterloo Police Department reports that on Saturday morning at 1:24 am, Matthew J Haws, age 28 of 65 Church Street Apartment B in Waterloo, was arrested for criminal contempt in the first degree (class E felony), criminal mischief in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor), and harassment in the second degree (violation).The arrest stems from a domestic dispute involving Haws and another individual. It is reported that over the course of the dispute that Haws damaged a cell phone the individual was using. There was also an active class B order of protection against Haws, protecting the individual. Haws was arraigned in the Village of Waterloo Court and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $2000 bail $4000 bond. Haws is scheduled to appear at a later date.
