Felony DWI charge after hit and run in Penn Yan

On Friday night around 6:00 pm Penn Yan Police arrested Shane M. Wright, age 33 of Liberty Street in Penn Yan, for felony driving while intoxicated following a hit and run motor vehicle accident.Police were dispatched to East Main Street for an accident involving Wright and another motorist in which Wright fled the scene. Wright was located by police down the street from where the accident occurred in his vehicle.Wright was arrested for felony DWI due to a previous DWI conviction in 2010.In a search of the vehicle, incidental to the arrest, police located a sandwich bag of marijuana in the passenger seat, a glass marijuana pipe, several straws containing white powder residue and a scale containing whit powder residue.Wright was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and several other traffic violations including leaving the scene of a property damage accident.Wright was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court on May 4th.
