A fresh new look for The Gould Hotel

The Gould Hotel in Seneca Falls NY is undergoing renovations to the dining area, lobby, and hotel rooms. The renovations have created a smart progressive feel to the hotel, nodding to Seneca Falls and its role in the history of female empowerment. The new look and feel will enhance the total experience for the guests. The Gould Hotel first opened its doors to the Seneca Falls community in February 1920, and was named for its financier the Gould Manufacturing Company. From its very first days, it developed a reputation for offering exceptional quality and service and was always the place to be for the locals. The community simply knows it as “The Gould”. During the 80s the hotel fell into disrepair and briefly closed its doors to the dismay of Seneca Falls. Jay Bernhardt, the founder of JGB Properties, acquired the hotel in 2007. Bernhardt’s intent was to reopen the hotel and help to revitalize downtown Seneca Falls. The renovations are scheduled to be complete by the end of April, 2015 and will include upgrades to the tavern, restaurant, guest rooms and lobby. The goal of the design project was devised by Erica Pigula of “Erica Pigula Interior Design”. “The plan was to build upon the existing progressive style and charm of the current design” Pigula said. “We wanted to bring more warmth, color and texture to the hotel. We have definitely succeeded in making this an even more inviting space for guests to relax, unwind.” Along with the refurbishments, the Gould will release its spring menu. The menu will include exciting new features from Executive Chef Chris Kuhns. The smokehouse selections offer a fresh twist on barbecue with house-smoked ribs, brisket, pork shoulder and chicken. For the comfort food lovers, pasta and classics like Pot Roast and Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf will also be available. For those looking for a lighter meal, the tavern fare and appetizers sections have been expanded with new small plate options paired with regional wines on select weeknights. The menu is very value oriented in its prices and features something for everyone. The full menu will be available in both the tavern and dining room. The Gould will offer a new lunch menu as well. As they head into spring, the Gould staff will hold a “Spring Open House” on Friday, May 15th for local residents and guests to tour rooms and enjoy samplings of the new menu. The Gould will be announcing more exciting news for late spring and summer tastings, wine tours, and promotions. The Gould Hotel also offers catering for weddings, banquets, meeting and private parties, both onsite and offsite. For more information, call 315-712-4000 or visit www.thegouldhotel.com
