Today, the ATHENA Award for Continuing Education Association celebrates the launching of their new website, www.AthenaGenevaAce.org. The new site features extensive content about the annual scholarship, including applicant requirements, application directions, and frequently asked questions.Since 2009, this organization has been able to give, on average, one scholarship per year valued at approximately $2500. For the 7th annual year, the ATHENA A.C.E. Scholarship will be open to women at least 25 years of age who live in eastern Ontario, Seneca, or Yates Counties and are, or will be, enrolled in an educational program by September 30, 2015. The educational program may be a formal college program or any certification or training program that is necessary for the woman to advance in her career or pursue her stated career goal. The scholarship is awarded to those who demonstrate the qualities promoted by the ATHENA International program: excellence, creativity and initiative in her profession, valuable service by contributing time and energy to her community, and assistance to other women in reaching their full potential.”The new website is a one-stop shop for anyone interested in learning more about our organization or applying for the scholarship,” said Tempe Newson, the 2014 scholarship recipient and newest board member. “By visiting the website, applicants can read about the history of the scholarship, review the directions and requirements for application, download the forms needed to apply, and donate to the scholarship.” The site also features powerful testimonials from past scholarship recipients. Abbey Linsner, the 2010 scholarship recipient writes, “Winning the scholarship was THE spark that rejuvenated my career!” The website also includes a thorough frequently asked questions page along with contact information of board members for those who have further inquiries. “Our goal in launching this website is to increase access and provide clear directions and communication with interested applicants” said scholarship founder, Jane McCaffrey. “We are very proud of the new website and hope it welcomes several wonderful women in our community to apply.”For more information, visit the website: www.AthenaGenevaACE.org or contact the scholarship board directly at [email protected].
