Interlaken sex offender jailed without bail

Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested James R. Forjone, age 46 of 2868 Munson Road in Interlaken, Yesterday on the campus of Cornell University. Forjone, who is a level three registered NYS sex offender, was charged with Offering a false instrument for filing, failing to report an address change and failing to report an internet account, all class E felonies. The charges stem from an investigation in which it was discovered that when Forjone filled out paperwork reporting he had moved to Seneca County and listed a false moving date. Forjone had lived in Seneca County for a period of time before reporting it. The failing to report an internet account charge stems from Investigators discovering Forjone having a Facebook account in a false name that was not reported to authorities. When arrested Forjone was found to be walking the grounds of Cornell University in Ithaca. Forjone was arraigned in Ovid Town Court where he was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail. Forjone is reappear in Town court on April 13th 2015 at 10:00 am. Investigators were assisted by the Cornell University Police Department.
