The Waterloo Police Department, in conjunction with the Seneca Falls Police Department and the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department, will be hosting a Child Safety Seat Fitting Station on March 28 from 9 am-2 pm at the Waterloo Fire Department on East Water Street in Waterloo. The event is open to the public with no appointments necessary. All vehicles will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.This event is designed to ensure that Child Safety Seats are installed properly, appropriate for the child’s height and weight, have not been recalled, and have not expired. New Child Safety Seats will be provided if necessary. Parents and Caregivers will also be educated on the properinstallation and use of the Child Safety Seats during the process. Children must be present and arrive in a Child Safety Seat for proper seat inspection.As a reminder, all passengers under age 8 need to be in an approved Child Safety Seat appropriate for their age and weight.
