A standing room only audience of over 300 attended a public education forum themed, “Respect Public Education. It works!” on Thursday night inside Albright Auditorium at Hobart & William Smith in Geneva. The entire program was streamed live on FingerLakes1.TV and YouTube.This forum featured a panel discussion moderated by Steven Uebbing, a professor at the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education and also included an appearance by Senator Mike Nozzolio. Panelists were Trina Newton, Geneva’s school superintendent; Scott Bischoping, Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES superintendent; Kathy Guenther, a member of the Penn Yan school board; Greg Lazzaro, a member of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors from Seneca Falls; Kathleen Passalacqua, a Geneva reading teacher; Kristina Knight, a Seneca Falls parent; and Jenna Curbeau, a student at Penn Yan Middle School.HWS President Mark Gearan will gave the opening remarks.Watch the entire program below:
