During my working years, St. Patrick’s Day became a significant milestone in the New Year. By the time March 17th rolls around, most folks who live in Upstate New York are tired of winter and looking forward to warmer temperatures. And so the significance of St. Patrick’s Day was a time to celebrate having survived another winter and to hoist a toast with family and friends in anticipation of warmer weather.
