Geneva community garden workshop underway

Spring is in the air, and Growing Geneva Together community garden project is underway! To kick-off this season, Growing Geneva Together will be sponsoring a gardening workshop on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 7 pm at the Geneva Neighborhood Resource Center, located at 430 Exchange Street. Cornell Agriculture professors Chris Smart and Steve Reiners will present the Top Ten Tips for growing a successful garden; everything from preparing soil to managing pests. Together, they will show you easy, common sense ways to grow your own tasty and nutritious vegetables.The community garden is at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at 70 Clark Street in Geneva. The plots are 4′ by 10′ sectioned for use by gardeners. Individuals are limited to one plot per household in the 2015 season. Plots are limited, so interested parties will be able to participate on a first come, first served basis. Those who would like to become a Garden Plot User must submit a Garden Plot Registration Form which is available at http://genevanrc.org/community-information/growing-geneva-together/ with a payment of $25 in cash or check (make payable to: Geneva Community Projects – Growing Geneva Together Community Garden.
