Help the Lyons Lions compete in Glens Falls!

On Saturday, the Lyons Lions varsity boys basketball team advanced to the NYS Class C Final Four by defeating Middle Early College at Rush-Henrietta in the quarterfinal round. That punched their ticket to Glens Falls where they are slated to face Waterville on Friday afternoon at 1:30 pm. If they win, they will play in the state title game on Saturday.Section V compensates school districts who advance to the state final four for mileage only. This leaves additional cost of lodging and food to the school. Lyons is faced with the possibility of having to drive home from Glens Falls (about a 3 1/2 hour drive) after Friday’s game only to return for the title game early Saturday morning. Even if the Lyons were to lose on Friday, these kids deserve the experience of an overnight stay in Glens Falls as opposed to a long bus ride home. If they should win, it would be difficult to be in top game shape for the biggest game of their lives after spending over 7 hours on the road between games. You can help! Here’s how…The following release was issued by Lyons Central Schools Monday afternoon:
