Fire officials say the weight of accumulating snow on a Shortsville building’s roof is likely the reason why the building on East High Street partially collapsed early Saturday evening.The business, NEWwoodworks, a branch of New Energy Works in Shortsville, collapsed around 5:30 pm. The building was empty at the time.Shortsville Fire Chief Jason Wagner told WHEC TV that an employee stopped in earlier in the day but the building was empty at the time of the incident. Chief Wagner also speculated that the building will likely have to be demolished due to the extent of damage from the collapse.
