The Seneca County Sheriff reports that on Monday at 12:02 pm deputies responded to Rt 414 in the Town of Lodi for a reported PIMVA. Upon investigating the accident deputies learned that Ashley D. Balch,19 of 186 McCarthy Rd. in Lindley, NY was north bound on Rt 414 when she lost control of her vehicle and exited the roadway. Balch was attempting to pass a vehicle and lost control, slid off of the roadway and struck a tree. Balch was taken by South Seneca Ambulance to Schuyler Hospital where she was treated and released for neck pain. Lodi Fire assisted at the scene. Balch was ticketed by Sheriff’s Deputies for operating at a speed not reasonable and prudent for the road conditions , and will appear in Lodi Court at a later date.
