Two airlifted from Ovid crash involving dump truck

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Deputies are investigating a personal injury motor vehicle accident that involved 3 vehicles, 2 passenger cars and a dump truck, on Rt 96 in the Town of Ovid at about 9:55 am. Deputies report that an unloaded dump truck driven by Genelle Bradford age 44 of 52 Andreas Road in Andreas, PA was eastbound on Route 96 and collided with a westbound car driven by Linda Tremlett age 70 of Conifer Drive in Interlaken. Tremletts car then came to rest on the north side of the road, while the dump truck struck a third vehicle- another westbound car driven by John Lasseter age 46 of Booth Road in Trumansburg, head on. The dump truck and Lasseter’s car came to rest also on the northbound shoulder and ditch of Rt 96. Deputies state that both Tremlett and Lasseter were extricated from their vehicles by members of Ovid, Romulus, Interlaken, Lodi and Trumansburg Fire Departments. Bradford was uninjured , but Tremlett complained of neck and chest pain, was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and then airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by LifeNet air ambulance. Lasseter was treated at the scene by Trumansburg ambulance and was airlifted to Strong by Mercy Flight air ambulance, for a fractured leg and other injuries. Both are being treated at Strong and are in Stable condition. All the vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. Deputies and witnesses report that at the time of the accident it was a white out condition with no visibility.
