The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office will be holding free boater safety classes this spring and summer. The courses will be held March 14th , April 11th, May 2nd and June 6th, 2015 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center 6150 Route 96, Romulus, N.Y. 14541. This course is for adults and children and provides students with Personal Watercraft (Jet Ski) certification for persons 14 years of age and older. The course also provides motor boat certification for persons 10 years of age and older. Sheriff Jack Stenberg is reminding citizens that there have been changes to the law regarding motor boat certification. A boater safety course, such as this one, is mandatory for anyone operating a motorboat born on or after May 1st, 1996.Students are to bring a lunch and a writing instrument. All other materials will be provided. At the successful completion of the course students will receive their certification immediately.Space is limited; attendees must register in advance by calling Chief Deputy John Cleere at 315-220-3408 or e-mail [email protected] under 10 are not eligible to take the course.
