No word yet on how serious the injury is as the team is still evaluating. The Reds remain undefeated in the FL East despite two close-calls in the past week, a 7 point escape at home against Waterloo and Friday night’s thrilling OT win in which Shamar Logins scored a season-high 27 points.Naples stands at 14-0 with just three games left on their regular season slate. For head coach Mick Salter’s Big Green to run the table they’ll have to beat HAC on the road, South Seneca at home, and then Red Jacket on the road. Of those three teams, only HAC stands at .500 or better, and they’re just 8-8 after losing by 12 Saturday to Elba. Check out these recent features on two of Naples’ starters, Noah Gorton and Isaiah Tilley.Mynderse sophomore Jake Mein is having a major impact on the Blue Devils since being called up from the JV team three games ago. Against Waterloo and Penn Yan Mein was active on the offensive and defensive board and he scored the game winning basket Friday night against Midlakes he put back a Jake Jones miss to give Mynderse a one-point lead with 5 seconds left in the game. Mein’s addition bolsters an already well stocked front line of Ben Cafolla, Kyle Ruddy and Robert Bachman.Lyons senior point guard Damon Hunter has been unstoppable over the past three games. Nobody has been able to keep him under the 30 point mark. Last Friday Hunter torched East Rochester for 32 points, on Tuesday night he carried Lyons to a win over Red Creek with a season-high 33 points, and on Thursday night he put up 30 in the gym of arch-rival Clyde-Savannah. In those three Lyons wins, Hunter has a total of 16 rebounds and 15 assists. Check out Damon in action against Red Creek below…Standings through 2/7FINGER LAKES EAST01. Newark 11-0 / 13-202.
