On Thursday night at 7:46 pm, Penn Yan police arrested Julie A. Andersen, age 51 of Pleasant Avenue in Penn Yan, and charged her with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.The arrest was prompted by a 911 call reporting a hit and run accident in the Tops parking lot in Penn Yan. A witness stated that a vehicle driven by Andersen struck a vehicle in the parking lot and left the scene.Officers found Andersen a short time later. She submitted to a field sobriety test which she failed. Andersen also submitted to a chemical breath test which showed her BAC to be .15%.Andersen was released and will appear in Village Court on February 9, 2015.
