Ovid man breaks femur, charged with DWI in crash

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday at about 1:00 am, Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a one car PIMVA on West Wycoff Road, in the Town of Ovid.Deputies report that Richard D Woodard, age 24 of 7482 Rock River Road in Ovid, was westbound on West Wycoff Road when he lost control and struck a ditch. Woodard was extricated from the vehicle by South Seneca Ambulance and Ovid Fire and transported by South Seneca Ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, were he is being treated for a broken femur. His passenger, Kimberly Bellivigna, age 21 also of 7482 Rock River Road in Ovid, was transported by a private vehicle to Upstate Medical Center, where she was treated for a swollen ankle.The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.Upon investigation, Deputies charged Woodard with Driving while intoxicated and speed not reasonable and prudent, and he will appear in the Town of Ovid Court at a later date.
