Fire damages Cayuga Lake State Park building

On Friday at 10:13 pm the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department responded along with the Seneca Falls Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance to the Cayuga Lake State Park maintenance shop on State Route 89 in the Town of Seneca Falls for a reported structure fire. Fire at Cayuga Lake State Park First arriving officers confirmed a working structure fire; the fire department arrived and requested mutual assistance from the Waterloo Fire Department, and the Fayette Fire Department. After extinguishing the fire the Seneca Falls Fire Department and the Seneca County Emergency Management Office determined the fire to be accidental.Cayuga Lake State Park Structure FireIt was believed that a wood stove located in the shop started the fire.The Border City Fire Department and the Geneva Fire Department were requested to cover the districts of the departments that were operating at the fire scene.Although the building suffered heavy fire and smoke damage there were no injuries sustained, the scene was then turned over to the New York State Park Police.
