Police: Seneca Falls man defrauds home owner

Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested James D. Cooley, age 33, of 53 East Bayard Street, Apt. 2, Seneca Falls. Cooley was arrested at his residence on December 20th on a charge of Grand Larceny 3rd, a class D felony.It is alleged that Cooley took $22,500 to build a house in the Town of Waterloo on February 14, 2014 and never purchased any materials or began building the house.Cooley was arraigned in Town of Waterloo Court where he was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $750.00 cash or $1,500.00 bail bond. Cooley is to return to Town of Waterloo court on January 15th 2015 at 5:00 pm to answer the charges.
